The Mayor of Novi Sad, Miloš Vučević, met with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Hami Aksoy, in the City Hall.
On that occasion, he wished him a warm welcome, assessing that the City has active cooperation with the Embassy of Turkey. The Ambassador expressed confidence that such cooperation will be continued and that it will be even more fruitful, especially in the fields of economy, but also culture and sports.
The interlocutors expressed satisfaction that this year the partner-country of the Novi Sad Tamburitza Fest will be Turkey, and that it will be an opportunity to deepen cooperation in the field of culture.
Mayor Vučević thanked the Ambassador for his support within the Regional Housing Program of the joint multi-year project of the Republic of Serbia, B&H, Montenegro and Croatia, which is financed by EU funds, and Turkey is among the countries that participated in the financing.
The hope was expressed at the meeting that the crisis caused by the pandemic will be overcome in the near future, and that international cooperation will be returned to regular flows.
