The Mayor of Novi Sad, Miloš Vučević, met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, H.E. Joost Reintjes. On that occasion, he wished him a warm welcome, emphasizing that Novi Sad leads active international and intercity cooperation.

- Novi Sad is a shining example of European values ​​as a city of true multiculturalism that nurtures diversity, and the fact that it was chosen as the Youth Capital of Europe and the European Capital of Culture only speaks in favor of that irrefutable fact - said Vučević.

The interlocutors agreed that the European Capital of Culture project contributes to the general development of the holder of that title, but also of the region, encouraging cooperation and joint activities of many cities and environments that are thus more closely connected. A stable political situation, continuation of reforms and a strong economy were assessed as the basic conditions for progress, while the European path as the best way for Serbia to make the most of numerous potentials, and for the living standard of citizens to be at a much higher level.

Vučević pointed out that Novi Sad, as a local self-government, strives to make the greatest possible contribution to the positive changes implemented by the Government of Serbia. The creation of industrial zones and a favorable business environment, as well as the creation of new jobs, are a priority of the local administration, Vučević emphasized, and the goal of both Novi Sad and the Republic of Serbia is to motivate young people to stay in their country which will be much stronger in all fields in this way.
