Representatives of the Chinese company CRBC presented several conceptual solutions for the construction of a new bridge over the Danube to the Mayor of Novi Sad Miloš Vučević and the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirović, and the meeting was attended, among others, by the Acting Director of the "Corridors of Serbia" Aleksandar Antić.
- After this meeting, we are a few more steps closer to the construction of the fourth bridge in Novi Sad. We talked with Chinese partners about several possible technical and visual solutions for the new bridge, the name of which will be chosen by the citizens of Novi Sad. We are in a hurry to take all actions in order to get to the beginning of construction as soon as possible. We have a serious job ahead of us regarding the expropriation from both the Bačka and Srem sides, and we are convinced that we will get what we emphasized to the Chinese partners, that it will be a bridge that will be on the postcards of Novi Sad. I am grateful to the Government of the Republic of Serbia for its support, and in ten days we will hold another meeting in this composition - Mayor Vučević emphasized.
Emphasizing that numerous capital projects are currently being implemented in Novi Sad, Minister Momirović said that another bridge would be built, which will be part of the Fruška Gora corridor, and reminded that the keys to 500 apartments for members of the security services were recently handed over.
- Whoever comes to Novi Sad now after 10 years, has something to see, and all that has been achieved thanks to the development that this country has been experiencing in the last few years. In the first quarter alone, building growth was 20 percent higher than last year. Those are impressive results, but what we really want is for that growth to be 40 percent higher in the second quarter. That will be a historical result that we can achieve only because of fiscal consolidation and all the projects we are working on the territory of Serbia - Momirović pointed out. He expressed his belief that the Belgrade-Novi Sad high-speed railway will be operational in February, and that the distance between the two cities will be crossed in just half an hour.
