Under the IPA cross-border program Serbia-Croatia, the funds for the project "Renewable energy in cities" - ("REC") have been approved. The lead project beneficiary is the City of Osijek, and the City of Novi Sad is a project partner. The aim of the project is to raise the awareness of the need for development and use of renewable energy, by working together, by sharing the knowledge and experience and by organizing workshops in 12 cities of Vojvodina as well as by producing the promotional material and creating a demo classroom in the Vocational Secondary School of Electrical Engineering “Mihajlo Pupin”. The total project cost is 447.264 euros, out of which the value of the project relating to the City of Novi Sad is 188.061.04 euros. The implementation of the project will provide Novi Sad with a full energy audit of five public buildings in the City of Novi Sad, which will serve as a basis for making decisions about their reconstruction, while the implementation of the Energy Management Information System (EMIS) will ensure systematic monitoring and energy management in public buildings.
