"Futoški Park" was built as a special-purpose park around Jodna Banja (Iodine Spa) in the first decade of the 19th century. It is known for its lush vegetation, spacious green areas and diverse plant species, which makes it a popular place for walking, recreation and relaxation among fellow citizens. This park, in addition to its historical value, is also significant due to the fact that cultural and entertainment events are often held there, thus further contributing to the social life of the city of Novi Sad.

On 27th May 2024 the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure and the City of Novi Sad concluded a Grant Agreement for the project "Reconstruction and Development of Futoški Park in Novi Sad".

The value of the project is 448,065,487.79 dinars excluding VAT. The amount of 3,837,186.00 euros was provided from the LIID project to finance the reconstruction and development of "Futoški Park".

The project for the reconstruction and development of "Futoški Park" includes ground-level development with furnishing (ground-level architecture) and associated infrastructure (traffic surfaces, hydrotechnical installations and electrical installations). These works include:

-renovation of all paths;
-reconstruction of the lake;
-introduction of a fence around the park and gates at the park entrances;
-replacement of existing furniture (benches, trash cans, bicycle racks, Braille boards, information boards, protective bollards) and introduction of new ones (equipping with chess sets and sets containing a table with two benches, intended for gatherings and spending time in nature for a larger number of users in one place;
-the entrance from Hajduk Veljkova Street is being opened and a paved plateau-square is being formed, within the green area. Greening is planned for the central part of the plateau, as well as infrastructural equipment with appropriate electrical installations, so that exhibitions, open-air galleries and various other events can be organized there.

An irrigation system was built in the area of ​​"Futoški Park" in 2021. The value of this project amounted to 29,818,086.00 dinars. Part of the project was financed by the Ministry of Environmental Protection in the amount of 21,802,144.56 dinars, the City of Novi Sad 7,679,199.81 dinars and the Public Utility Company "Gradsko zelenilo" Novi Sad 336,741.63 dinars.
