
Partners include the City of Osijek, as a leading partner, with UNDP Croatia, and the City of Novi Sad, with the Energy Agency of the City of Novi Sad, Secondary Vocational School of Electrical Engineering "Mihajlo Pupin", where a demo classroom for renewable energy will be formed. Head of the Local Economic Development Office Olivera Simović said that environmental protection and energy saving areas are the focus of the European Union countries.
- The office has a coordinating role between all project participants, and I am using this opportunity to invite all city's institutions to engage themselves to the greatest possible extent in the preparation of the projects with which we can compete with foreign and domestic funds, because, in this way, the funding can be secured in order to address the important issues of the current economic hardship - said Olivera Simović.
According to the project manager from the City Administration for Environmental Protection of the City of Novi Sad Dragica Branković, the total project cost is estimated at 447. 264 euros. The value of the funding of the project related to the City of Novi Sad is 188. 061.04 euros. The aim of the project is, as she explained, that by working together and sharing the knowledge and experiences and by creating demo classroom in the Secondary Vocational School of Electrical Engineering "Mihajlo Pupin", as well as by organizing workshops in 12 cities of Vojvodina and by making brochures and flyers, to raise awareness of the need for the development and use of the renewable energy sources.
Director of the Energy Agency of the City of Novi Sad said that under the project, by using thermal imaging cameras and other related equipment the energy audit of 5 public buildings in Novi Sad will be preformed, and the results will serve as a basis for deciding on their reconstruction, and for the development of energy studies for the reconstruction of facilities in accordance with the EU standards.
Project Manager of the City of Osijek, Goran Pihler said that the most important thing when it comes to the exchange of experience, is the implementation of the Energy Management Information System (EMIS) to ensure systematic monitoring and energy management in public buildings of Novi Sad, as well as the formation of an energy database. The project envisages the development of an annual plan and three-year program of energy management in Novi Sad, in line with the EU standards. For local government representatives in Novi Sad, Srbobran, Bač, Bečej, Vrbas, Bačka Palanka, Bački Petrovac, Žabalj, Titel, Temerin, Beočin and Sremski Karlovci, workshopshops will be organized on: the application of energy efficiency measures in transport, industry, facilities and introducing the EMIS – the Energy Management Information System in public buildings and use of this system for continuous monitoring of energy consumption and performing of energy audits.
