It is a project implemented by the Serbia Film Commission with financial support from the European Union and the Austrian Development Agency, in partnership with the National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED), the National Tourism Organization of Serbia, the City of Smederevo and the Cinema City festival, whose main goals are to stimulate the film industry on the Danube, as a driver of economic, cultural and tourism development in the Danube region, and to promote the cities and municipalities on the Danube as competitive destinations for shooting international films.
The City of Novi Sad has met the requirements with regard to the introduction of the necessary procedure and pricelist for issuing filming permits at locations and created the list of sites which are under its jurisdiction and which are available for film production. Having done all those things, the City of Novi Sad has become a film-friendly environment.
The participants at this conference were foreign trainers and members of film commissions, location managers and film producers from Austria, Hungary, Germany, Great Britain, Romania and Croatia, who discussed the preconditions of attracting new national and international film and TV projects in the Danube region.
The "Film Friendly" certificate was awarded to the municipalities of Ruma, Vršac, Loznica, Veliko Gradište, Bač, Sremski Karlovci, Zrenjanin, Beočin, Pećinci, Golubac, Negotin, Boljevac, Kladovo and Majdanpek.
