Within the pilot project of the City of Novi Sad, which is part of the TRIBUTE project, activities are underway to develop an application for smartphones and to prepare necessary equipment for installation at the bus stops and public transport buses. After the establishment of the pilot project, users of public bus transport on line number 4 will be provided with information on bus arrivals and departures in real time, based on data from the vehicle in which GPS devices will be installed. Likewise, users of the mobile application will receive information on alternative modes of transport (e.g. bicycle) in order to meet individual needs in a sustainable way.
The City of Novi Sad, in partnership with seven cities and municipalities from the Adriatic-Ionian region (Milan, Ljubljana, Maribor, Zagreb, Patras, Sarajevo and Podgorica) within the Interreg ADRION program, participates in the international project TRIBUTE - inTegRated and Innovative actions for sustainaBle Urban mobiliTy upgrade, whose main goal is to improve urban transport by developing more efficient transport services and solutions for sustainable mobility tailored to people's needs.
The TRIBUTE project has entered its second year. The whole consortium is planning to have the next Steering Committee Meeting in Novi Sad (Serbia) on next July, and to organized it in presence after the ending of travel restriction due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The agenda and the details of possible side events would be circulated soon. The meeting will be the occasion for the project partners to discuss about the results achieved so far in the implementation of the living lab and of the pilot actions, and to sort out the setbacks encountered during the first months, in view of the definition of the TRIBUTE transnational strategy for the sustainable mobility in the Adriatic-Ionian cities.
Some anticipations have been presented during the Annual ADRION event held on May 17th in Tirana (Albania), within the 7th Forum of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR). On this occasion prof. Coppola (Politecnico di Milano, TRIBUTE Lead partner) presented the TRIBUTE approach (“quadruple helix”) for the identification of actions oriented to low-carbon and inclusive urban mobility, with a focus on the “Mobility Islands” concept, i.e. pilot action implemented by the City of Sarajevo. Besides, TRIBUTE will be present with its own stand at the Velocity 2022 conference to be held in Ljubljana (Slovenia), organised from June 14th to 17th by the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF). This will be a great opportunity to explore new possibilities for cooperation with other European cities, and to share preliminary results of the TRIBUTE pilot actions, particularly those related to the development of green cycling routes.
