Mayor of Novi Sad Miloš Vučević welcomed His Excellency Majid Fahimpour Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Serbia in the Reception Hall of the Novi Sad City Hall.

Ambassador Fajimpour emphasized the importance of striving to imrove the cooperation between Serbia and Iran, as Iran is very interested in the development of bilateral relations in culture, economy and politics.

Mayor Vučević and Ambassador Fajimpour agreed that there are numerous possibilities of improvement of cooperation among regions and cities of the two countries. They mentioned the last month’s Cooperation Protocol signed between the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Novi Sad and the Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran as a successful form of already established cooperation which enabled the organization of a Persian language course and various events presenting Iranian culture and customs in Novi Sad.

The Ambassador was especially pleased that today and in the next three days the citizens of Novi Sad will have an opportunity to visit the exhibition "Iranian Cities in Pictures" in the Foreign Art Collection of the City Museum, organized by the Serbian-Iranian Friendship Society in cooperation with the City of Novi Sad.
