ITALIAN AMBASSADOR VISITS NOVI SAD

Mayor of Novi Sad Miloš Vučević received Ambassador of Italy to Serbia H.E. Giuseppe Manzo in the Reception Hall of the Novi Sad City Hall. Mr. Vučević wished a warm welcome to the Italian Ambassador and expressed gratefulness for his visit, while the Ambassador thanked for the cordial welcome and emphasized the great importance of international contacts for strengthening the city’s development potentials.

The Mayor and the Italian Ambassador agreed that attracting new investments is a crucial condition for improving the economic environment and citizens’ standard of living, and that cooperation between Italian cities and Novi Sad is possible in that very field. The Ambassador also emphasized the participation of Italian companies in the next Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, in May 2014, which will additionally strengthen mutual economic cooperation.

The Mayor expressed readiness to continue and intensify cooperation with the Republic of Italy through agreements and projects in the coming period, highlighting the current investment of Italian company K314, whose first investment location outside Italy is Novi Sad, as in Novi Sad the company found a suitable partner and necessary infrastructure for production and installation of printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies.

Ambassador of Italy to Serbia Giuseppe Manzo said that Serbia, as well as the City of Novi Sad, are reliable partners and a suitable base for expansion to other markets for Italian entrepreneurs and expressed his satisfaction that the two countries also have an ever-growing cooperation in the field of education and science.
