INCREASE IN THE CREDIT RATING OF THE CITY OF NOVI SAD TO THE PRIDE OF ALL CITIZENS OF NOVI SAD

Based on the latest report by the rating agency "Moody's", one of the most influential on the global financial market for credit rating, the City of Novi Sad received great news about Novi Sad and Serbia. Namely, the "Moody's" agency increased the long-term credit rating of the City of Novi Sad from "Ba3" to "Ba2" with, as they say, stable prospects for further improvement. This is explained by the consistent management of the City budget, which, with overall good fiscal discipline, withstands the impact of the shock caused by the Covid 19 pandemic.

- This is a huge success for all of us. Serbia is one of the few countries that managed to get an increase in its credit rating in one difficult year, in which the pandemic literally paralyzed some of the world's leading economies. It is a confirmation of our responsible policy which is focused on preserving the health of our citizens, but also of our economy. The increase in the credit rating of the City of Novi Sad is supported by a low level of debt and very high liquidity, and the well-known world rating agency especially emphasizes the important role of Novi Sad in the national economy, as the second largest city in Serbia. Novi Sad is an example of how investors from all over the world were not prevented by the crisis caused by the pandemic in order to invest capital in our city - Mayor Miloš Vučević said.

He emphasized that this is great news, which implies an increase in the long-term credit rating by the Moody's agency, which gives the wind in the back of the city government to continue to improve Novi Sad as a significant investment destination, even more reliable and of higher quality. According to the report, the Agency expects that the stable financial position of the City will be preserved in the future, with the reduction of the debt level to a very low level.
