- This is the fifteenth fair organized by the City and the National Employment Agency and I am glad for the great interest of employers. This Employment Action Plan measure will be implemented in the next year as well and what is important is that we are continuously increasing the budget funding for that purpose. First and foremost, we are striving to solve the problem of less employable categories such as women, the disabled and the elderly – said Mr. Sečujski, wishing a successful day both to the employers and the job seekers.
The Fair is hosting 53 employers offering 407 jobs, a result of successful multiannual cooperation between the City of Novi Sad and the Novi Sad branch of the National Employment Agency, whose primary goal is to increase employment, i.e. to decrease unemployment of 17.8% on the City territory.
Deputy Manager of the National Employment Agency Mr. Dragan Sikimić pointed out that the City of Novi Sad and the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina are a positive example regarding how they are dealing with this important social issue, as even in this difficult year, marked by devastating floods, they allocated considerable funds for employment measures which have consequently decreased unemployment.
The Fair is a part of the active employment policy of the City of Novi Sad, in the framework of the 2014 Employment Action Plan and in accordance with the National Employment Action Plan, which are the primary instruments for implementation of employment policy, whilst complying with the 2011-2020 National Employment Strategy of the Republic of Serbia and the Europe 2020 strategy.
