The City of Novi Sad, via the Local Economic Development Office, in cooperation with Public Utility Company "Informatics" Novi Sad as a partner, applied in the framework of the Exchange 3 Program with project entitled E-goverment. The program was announced by the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Serbia, and it is financed by the EU IPA funds, in the total amount of 212,710.68 euroes, in dinar equivalent. The project is an integral part of the Business Process Automation project, from the Novi Sad Local Economic Development Strategy.
Information and communication technologies (ICT) are local self-government’s chance to approach citizens and raise the quantity and quality of services, increase efficiency and reduce costs in the public sector, stimulate the introduction of new services and improve the existing ones. Project objective is to define and realize the necessary preconditions for setting up the e-government, to determine and create priority electronic services and put them at disposal of citizens and legal entities via the portal and counter for reception of electronic documentation.
The introduction of e-government provides its users (citizens, companies, organizations, etc.) with easier, quicker and cheaper way of performing actions in the local self-government. Citizens will be able to access services online, those that are suitable for online access, via their personal computers or mobile devices.
