
The Mayor of Novi Sad, Mr. Miloš Vučević, received a delegation consisting of mayors and businessmen from different French departments. On this occasion, the guests from France were presented the economic potentials of the City of Novi Sad in many aspects. Namely, the experts from different fields presented Novi Sad through the prism of the local economic development, its capacities as the university center, as well as through the development of its economic potentials and the steps taken in improving the culture environment that significantly influences its positioning on the map of Europe.
- The City of Novi Sad is committed to the implementation of one of its primary goals, directed towards developing of its economy and creating of a favorable business climate. Our plan is to create a stable environment for attracting investment and establishing cooperation with potential investors. This visit was organized owing to the Serbian Ambassador to France, H.E. Rajko Ristić, and it is the first step in the future cooperation of French local self-governments and Novi Sad. Developing and maintaining friendly relations with France largely contributes to intensifying of cooperative relations in the vital socio-economic areas. We wish to introduce ourselves to you in full splendor, to show you some of the most important references of Novi Sad as an administrative and university city with a rich cultural heritage - said the Mayor of Novi Sad Miloš Vučević and wished the French guests a pleasant stay in Novi Sad.
Head of the French Delegation, Mr. Michel Teulet, said that the introduction of businessmen and mayors from France with Novi Sad’s potentials opens a space for discussion on topics of local interest, viewed as a constructive exchange of ideas on the cooperation of local authorities and companies from France and Serbia.
- We believe that you have great potential and it would be natural to expect the improvement of the economic ties between our two countries - said Michel Teulet, the Mayor of Gagny.
During the official part, the City of Novi Sad was presented as an area with a favorable business environment, while the most important information of interest to investors was presented by the Head of the Local Economic Development, Mrs. Olivera Simović. Thereafter, the City of Novi Sad, seen through the prism of its educational resources, was presented as an important university center in the country by Prof. Dr Miroslav Vesković and Prof. Dr Pavle Sekeruš from the University of Novi Sad. Likewise, the Director of the Regional Chamber of Commerce Novi Sad, Mr. Milorad Radojević, addressed the audience by demonstrating the facts about the economic potentials of Novi Sad, while Dr Andrej Fajgelj, the Cultural Center of Novi Sad Director, presented the commitment of the city administration in the frame of its candidacy for the European Capital of Culture in 2020.
