During the meeting, Mr. Pavličić emphasized that it is for the good of Novi Sad to strengthen ties with the Council and materialize cooperation for a mutual interest.

"Novi Sad nurtures European values and is open for cooperation in numerous fields. Active participation in the work of the Council of Danube Cities and Regions would contribute to even faster development of our city, as united with other cities from the region we would be able to receive financial resources from European funds for implementation of important projects from the domain of water quality improvement, environment, transportation and economic development" – said Mayor Igor Pavličić.

At the meeting it was concluded that in the coming period activities would be initiated for the establishment of the Council office in Novi Sad, for the preparation of projects with which the City would apply for available EU funds. Secretary General of the Council of Danube Cities and Regions Eric Bartha concluded that Novi Sad has all the predispositions to be an important agent in cross-border cooperation and development of the Danube region.
