CONSTRUCTION WORKS STARTED ON THE FOURTH SECTION OF THE BOULEVARD OF EUROPE

02.02.2012.
Igor Pavličić, Mayor of Novi Sad, visited construction works on the bridge over the Danube-Tisa-Danube Canal, which represent the initial construction phase of the fourth section of the Boulevard of Europe in Novi Sad that will be followed by the construction of a 3,100 m route between Rumenački...

The future bridge will be 176 m long and 13.7 m wide. It will have two roadways, sidewalks and bicycle lanes.

- The Boulevard of Europe is the greatest infrastructural project in the recent years and it crowns all our hard work over the last three and a half years. By building the fourth section and the bridge, which will be, just to give you a clearer picture, wider than the Beška Bridge, we are completing the major project currently carried out in Novi Sad. This boulevard will open a completely new vision of the city development, new entrance to the city will be created and new business zones. All the lots that are currently unexploited will be developed, local economic development will be fueled, while traffic jams will become a thing of the past – said Igor Pavličić, Mayor of Novi Sad.

The construction works include two roadways with two traffic lanes each, sidewalks, bicycle lanes and public lighting. Two roundabouts will also be constructed – one before the Danube-Tisa-Danube Canal, as a connection with Privrednikova Street, and the second one after the canal, towards the highway, as a connection with Primorska Street. Construction of a 450 m overpass over railway facilities and Privrednikova Street is also in plan. Contractor for the second and third phase of the fourth section, that span from the Danube-Tisa-Danube Canal (including the bridge) to the E-75 Highway, is Borovica Transport LLC from Ruma, while contractor for the first phase of the fourth section, spanning from Rumenački Road to the canal (including the overpass) is Public Company "City Roads", Novi Sad.
