Novi Sad Mayor Miloš Vučević today received in the City Hall the representatives of the French group Conquest to talk about economic cooperation. The Conquest group is made up of companies Noremat, Etesia, Husson and Acometis which are engaged in the production of utility equipment, and each of them is a well-known production specialist. They are producing top-quality equipment for winter and summer maintenance of roads and the maintenance and development of green areas, as well as street furniture and playgrounds for children.
- The City of Novi Sad established a good cooperation with the representatives of the Conquest group last year, when we introduced them to the potentials of our city and the ways in which the city administration could help foreign investors. I am sure that this will be a successfully implemented project. What makes me happy is the decision of French businessmen to invest in Novi Sad and the fact that they recognized our city as a good host and partner - said Mayor Miloš Vučević.
Patrick Vives, the president of the Conquest group, said that they are currently employing over 500 workers, adding that their wholesale turnover totaled over EUR 100 million. He noted that the aim of their international expansion is to sell equipment to ex Yugoslav countries, stressing that they will take a step forward by opening an affiliate in Novi Sad.
- Machines of the Conquest group will be assembled and produced in Novi Sad and this affiliate will guarantee a successful business since it will invest in post-sales service and repair of equipment for users. After touring several facilities in the Free zone, we are delighted with the way we were welcomed by the City representatives, as well as with their willingness to do business and cooperate with us - said Patrick Vives.
An office of the Conquest group has been opened in downtown Novi Sad, and it should employ 30 workers in the nearest future. These people will be the leading workers of this company, and some of them will be even trained in France.
