Member of the City Council in charge of economy Goran Sečujski, MSc, opened the 3rd Beekeeping Fair – Honey Days, organized by the Beekeepers’ Association “Jovan Živanović” Novi Sad under the auspices of the City of Novi Sad and coorganizers - the City Administration for Economy and Novi Sad Tourist Organization. The Fair aims to promote the economic branch of beekeeping, healthy living principles and beekeeping products.
- Last year more than three thousand tons of honey were exported from Serbia, justifying that beekeeping has good prospects and is becoming an important branch of the economy in our country. As one of 200 events held in our city, the Beekeeping Fair has a great potential for attracting domestic and foreign tourists to Novi Sad. Tourism as a branch of industry is one of rare sectors which has seen modest but constant growth throughout the years and hence represents an important source of income for the city budget and the budget of entrepreneurs – stated Mr. Sečujski, wishing favorable weather conditions during the fair and good attendance.
At the three-day event, visitors will have the opportunity to see, buy and inform themselves about different kinds of honey and honey-based products and to enjoy the versatile cultural program with almost 1500 participants.
