The Mayor of Novi Sad, Miloš Vučević, received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Madi Atamkulov, at the City Hall. The Mayor wished him a warm welcome and expressed hope that good cooperation with the Embassy of Kazakhstan will continue during his term.

The officials agreed that, in the year marking the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Kazakhstan, it is important to transfer good relations from the national plan to cities, through more intensive exchange of official visits, strengthening economic and cultural cooperation and mutual support on strategically important projects.

The Ambassador thanked for the reception and emphasized that the goal of the work of the Embassy of Kazakhstan is, among other things, to contribute to the creation of a positive environment in order to improve friendly relations between the two countries and the two peoples. Mayor Vučević expressed his satisfaction that negotiations between the administration of the City of Novi Sad and the City of Nur-Sultan regarding the establishment of cooperation have recently begun.

It was concluded at the meeting that more intensive work will be done on establishing economic, trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation, including the field of culture in the light of the election of Novi Sad for the European Capital of Culture in 2022, as well as in agriculture, sports, youth and IT sector.
