Mayor of Novi Sad, Miloš Vučević, today welcomed the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Serbia, H.E. Laurent L. Stokvis.

At the meeting in the City Hall, Mayor Vučević acquainted Ambassador Stokvis with economic and social potentials of Novi Sad and presented him the investment and development possibilities in numerous domains that constitute the city’s functioning system.

The officials talked about the upcoming international event to be held in Novi Sad in May, the Agricultural Fair, whose partner country will be the Netherlands. In that way, the countries will closely cooperate and promote themselves, while the City of Novi Sad will strive to be a good host and partner to the Netherlands, one of the leading agricultural powers in the European Union.

Ambassador Stokvis and the Mayor concluded that the city offers numerous opportunities to invest in economy. The Netherlands is a country with a lot of knowledge and experience, while Novi Sad is a city with numerous possibilities, high-quality and qualified workforce, efficient and operative city administration, in addition, the assembly adopted adequate decisions which provide investors with significant incentives. The officials agreed that the time is right to intensify the city efforts to attract investors, since Serbia is on the way to the EU and the open European market, as well as that both Serbia and the Netherlands will strive to raise the interest of Dutch investors for Novi Sad.
