The Ambassador expressed his pleasure that the citizens of Novi Sad have repeatedly had the opportunity to be, in the context of various events held in Novi Sad, familiar with Iranian traditions, culture and customs, i.e. to meet the Iranian cultural heritage in direct contact. The interlocutors agreed that cooperation in the field of culture in the coming period should only go upwards, due to the excellent communication between the Embassy, the City and the Iranian Cultural Centre.
Mayor Miloš Vučević and Ambassador H.E. Majid Fahim Pour agreed that there are numerous possibilities for improving the cooperation at the interregional and intercity level between the two countries, and that it is important that the cities of the two countries continuously share their experiences in order to create the ground for the implementation of specific projects.
They mainly discussed the possibilities of cooperation in two areas of the economy, such as agriculture and tourism. Mayor Vučević pointed out that the participation of Iran in the International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad contributed significantly to the country’s presentation of potentials that are undisputed and he supported the initiative for the constitution of a consortium of agricultural enterprises for trade in agricultural products which would include Novi Sad-based companies in the field. The Mayor also welcomed the initiative of Iran's biggest tour operator interested in bringing the Iranian tourists to Serbian cities, including Novi Sad.
The Ambassador and the Mayor expressed the expectation that the fruitful cooperation in all fields will continue in the future and concluded that the current development of relations between the two countries, as well as the Embassy and the City of Novi Sad is excellent.
