The Mayor of Novi Sad, Milan Đurić, met with the Minister for Federal and European Affairs in the Government of the Federal Province of Hessen, Lucia Putrich, who is staying in Serbia with a multi-member delegation from the Federal Republic of Germany.

The interlocutors emphasized the existence of a long tradition of cultural and educational Serbian-German ties, as well as the importance of fostering the regional partnership of Hessen and the AP of Vojvodina.

Minister Putrich highlighted the possibility of strengthening cooperation with Novi Sad as the administrative center of the Province, pointing out that Hessen is one of Serbia's leading economic partners and that there are many options for cooperation between local self-governments.

Mayor Đurić introduced Minister Putrich to the City's potentials and presented opportunities for deepening cooperation in the field of economy, environmental protection and education, and she pointed out that the delegation, as part of their visit to the city, will also visit the University of Novi Sad, as a very important institution, which has been contributing to the Serbian Athens being widely recognized as a bastion of education and science, for decades.
