Novi Sad’s Mayor, Milan Đurić, received the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to the Republic of Serbia, H.E. Osvaldo Marsico in the City Hall. The Mayor welcomed His Excellency to Novi Sad, and Ambassador Marsico expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome.
The interlocutors stated that it is to be expected that over nine decades of good diplomatic relations between Argentine and Serbia will be reflected on the local level and cooperation in many fields. Hence, during the meeting they discussed strengthening the ties between the two nations, especially in the fields of culture, science and education, while emphasizing that the potential of economic and economic cooperation should also be strengthened.
In addition, it was pointed out that the concretization of the future cooperation between the Embassy and the City could be realized through the participation of Argentine businessmen at the International Agricultural Fair, as well as within the framework of cultural and artistic events and by establishing twinning relations with a city from Argentina that would join the family of 22 twin cities of Novi Sad.
Ambassador Marsico congratulated the City of Novi Sad on the prestigious title it proudly holds this year as the European Capital of Culture, and noted that he will also use his stay in Novi Sad to visit the "Argentine Days at the Faculty of Philosophy" event, which is taking place from 8th to 10th November.
