- It is my great pleasure to have this opportunity to welcome Mr. Gros and accompanying delegation at the City Hall. It is highly important for the City that we establish a direct and close communication and cooperation with the Senate of economy of Serbia, while it is particularly significant that with Mr. Gros’s help, we are simultaneously establishing cooperation with the Senates of economies of Austria and Germany. I am especially glad that I got the status of honorary senator and I think this represents additional symbolic image that contributes to creation of a better picture of the economy of Novi Sad as the environment for attracting investments. Today we have met at the City Hall, among other things, in the frame of meetings between entrepreneurs from Novi Sad and our guests and I hope that the meetings will not be only of protocol nature, but rather, they will give concrete results which will affect the economic position of the City of Novi Sad -Mayor Vučević said.
The Senate of economy of Serbia, through its program of activities, is promoting the idea of general and individual interests, in order to promote the economic relations between Serbia, Austria and Germany i.e. the European Union. The aim is to bring together business people whose development programs aim at connection with international markets, the promotion of export and cooperation with Europe. Ivan Gros pointed out that today’s meeting at the City Hall is also an opportunity to have discussion with nearly fifty entrepreneurs from Novi Sad in the frame of establishing of a closer cooperation with the markets of Germany and Austria in order to build a bridge for business with EU countries.
- This is only the beginning of the cooperation. We will try to provide assistance to our entrepreneurs and companies to a greatest possible extent in order to facilitate successful commencement and conclusion of contacts. It is important to recognize, both in the country and abroad, the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Serbia which have provided excellent results. It is obvious that in recent months serious reform steps have been undertaken that traced Serbia on the right path to overcome the decades-old problems and to intensify the economic development – Gros said.
