The representatives of Novi Sad were welcomed by Councilor Anar Ajamov and First Secretary Azad Pashayev and discussed the continuation of cooperation in the fields of economy, sports, culture and education, as a month ago the City of Novi Sad signed a Letter of Intent with the Azerbaijani City of Sumgayit.

- Today’s visit is the first in a series of discussions between the representatives of the Novi Sad local self-government and the Republic of Azerbaijan and there will be more meetings on the topics included in the Letter of Intent, such as: culture, sports and youth, economy, development of investment climate and cooperation of universities. I am certain that each following visit will further strengthen the relations of Novi Sad and Sumgayit. This will, I hope, also contribute to the establishment of amicable relations for the mutual benefit of both cities – said Mr. Petrović.

On the occasion, the delegation from Novi Sad also visited the Azerbaijani Cultural Center and the Serbian-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce.
