Novi Sad Mayor Miloš Vučević, together with his assistant for utility system and energy Vladimir Jelić and PUC "Waterworks and Sewerage" director Dragan Božić, visited today the preparatory works on the extension of Novi Sad Water Plant on Sunčani Quay.
- After 30 years, the first more serious works are starting on Novi Sad Water Plant which will ensure that in the coming decades, Novi Sad has a safe supply of drinking water and a secured future as a social and economic community. This clearly shows that the city government fulfills its promise that we will ensure accessible water and sewerage to all citizens of Novi Sad, because the question of health of our citizens is a priority. It is important to note that the city budget will not be burdened with these works, but that "Waterworks and Sewerage" will provide funds to restore the credit lines - the Mayor said.
- PUC "Waterworks and Sewerage" director Dragan Božić said that the very value of the investment is nine million euros, provided by the European Investment Bank, which proves the importance of the investment for the "Waterworks and Sewerage" and the City of Novi Sad.
- Today, we are starting the works on the extension of the Water processing and distribution plant in Sunčani Quay with ozone block and gau-filters, which will lead water processing and quality to the maximum level. Likewise, the construction of a new reservoir of 10.000 cubic meters of water is also starting. The construction of this tank will improve and further stabilize the water supply system in Novi Sad - director Božić said.
