Mayor of Novi Sad Miloš Vučević participated in the “Novi Sad–Saint Petersburg Investment Forum” held in the City Hall, featuring about twenty Serbian and the same number of Russian entrepreneurs. The Investment Forum was an excellent opportunity for presenting economic potentials of the City of Novi Sad and Serbia, as well as for making important contacts and establishing good business cooperation. The organization of the Forum was encouraged by the successful cultural cooperation within the international relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation. On the occasion, the “Drama Theater on Vasilievsky” from Saint Petersburg will perform the play “Uncle Vanya” of Anton Chekhov on the Small Stage of the Serbian National Theater at 19:00 today. Tomorrow, “Without a Dowry” by Alexander Ostrovsky will be performed on the same stage of the Serbian National Theatre.
- Undisputedly, the foundations of Serbian-Russian friendship are solid and our task is to improve and expand them. Economic and cultural cooperation is ideal for the initial development of mutually-beneficial relations and this is just the first page of the joint book we are starting to write. I am sure that Novi Sad has things to offer and that our city can win a fair market competition with other Serbian municipalities and cities. Today we primarily want to start the story of our economic and business potential, that a successful Russian entrepreneur will today or at some future meeting make the decision to invest in Novi Sad. We can assure you that we will be reliable partners and good hosts, and that you will certainly find an economic interest to come to Novi Sad, to work here, make profit and employ our fellow citizens – said Mayor Vučević to the attendees and wished the guests from Russia a pleasant stay in Novi Sad.
The Vasilievsky Theater director and a successful Russian entrepreneur, Mr Vladimir Slovohotov, who headed the Russian delegation, thanked the mayor for his warm welcome and introduced the present Russian entrepreneurs from various spheres of the economic activity. -I sincerely hope that this will be an opportunity to establish important contacts as well as to establish a concrete business cooperation between the Serbian and Russian entrepreneurs - Vladimir Slovohotov said.
Olivera Simović, Head of the Local Economic Development Office, gave a presentation on Novi Sad’s investment and development potentials, followed by the Chamber of Commerce Novi Sad presentation on the City data. The official part of the Investment Forum was followed by friendly talks, during which the Russian entrepreneurs had the opportunity of sharing the experience and business contacts with representatives of successful companies of Novi Sad and Serbia, after which they jointly went to the Serbian National Theater to see the play "Uncle Vanya".
