The funds for co-financing of the project “Energy infrastructure development in the Work Zone Rimski Šančevi“ awarded to the City of Novi Sad

Deputy mayor of Novi Sad Borko Ilić attended the signing ceremony of the Contract on improving the institutional and management capacity of local governments in Vojvodina, held at the building of the Government of Vojvodina in Novi Sad. Open call for financing, issued by the Provincial Secretariat for Interregional Cooperation and Local Government, awarded the amount of 1,250,000 RSD to the City of Novi Sad for the project "The energy infrastructure  development in the Work Zone Rimski Šančevi in Novi Sad”.

- The project we proposed has been carried out in cooperation with the Municipality of Temerin, PUC "Business premises" Novi Sad,  RDA Bačka, VIP Fund and Vojvodina Metal Cluster. It involves the design of the Main project with technical control of the gas ring at the site of industrial production and crafts complex of the Work Zone Rimski Šančevi ". The site is fully equipped with the necessary infrastructure, and the implementation of this project will provide 50,000,00 square meters of usable office space on long-term basis and contribute to improving of the business environment of Novi Sad, and therefore of the AP of Vojvodina - deputy mayor Borko Ilić said and added that Novi Sad is a leader among local governments in attracting the funds from IPA projects and that it will, through the Office for Local Economic Development of the City of Novi Sad, continue to actively work on securing the funding for projects and investments that will contribute to a better life of the citizens of Novi Sad

Provincial Secretary for International Cooperation and Local Self -Government Branislav Bugarski explained that through  this open call, named “Vojvodina standard”  54 million  RSD has been alloted for upgrading and improving the living conditions of people in Vojvodina.

- We decided to build internal and external capacities of municipalities and cities and thus to engage citizens in their functioning. Our goal is for each local government to have a development strategy, an office for local economic development, and a system of communication with citizens - said Branislav Bugarski and called the local self-governments to respond to open calls scheduled for the following year, as well.
