Deputy Mayor Borko Ilić attended the official opening ceremony of the 8th international investment fair INVESTEXPO taking place at the Novi Sad Fair from October 29th to October 31st. During the three days of the fair, local self-governments of cities and municipalities will promote investment projects, proactively creating the necessary conditions for attracting foreign and national capital for the purpose of accelerated development of their communities and their strengthening on the economic level, both nationally and in the region.
Sulejman Ugljanin, PhD, Minister without Portfolio in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, opened INVESTEXPO, pointing out that the Novi Sad Fair and the City of Novi Sad are developing a healthy logic of sustainable development of Serbia, connecting those who supply and those who demand.
- Twenty-four municipalities from underdeveloped regions whose standard is below the 60% of the national average are taking part in the fair. Local self-governments are presenting their assets and potentials, enabling investors to find their interest in investing money in the development of our country – said Mr. Ugljanin.
Public Company “City Construction and Development” and the Local Economic Development Office will present the potentials of the City of Novi Sad at this year’s fair, with the focus on available sites in the City’s ownership which are ready to be sold and on the new incentives offered to investors.
- I am glad that the City of Novi Sad is hosting such a big fair event. The Novi Sad Fair is the brand of Novi Sad and has a great importance both for our city and our country. Besides being the second largest city, Novi Sad is an economic, tourist and cultural center of Serbia. We believe that we have a lot to offer to potential investors, that Novi Sad deserves to be the most modern local self-government in Serbia, and our presence at this event is exactly one of the steps on that road - said Deputy Mayor Borko Ilić.
The eighth INVESTEXPO, which encompasses the Investment Fair and the Energy Days, gathered more than 60 participants, 50 of which are local self-governments of cities and municipalities. The exhibitors are from our country, as well as from Hungary, the Republika Srpska, Romania and Croatia, which justifies the international character of INVESTEXPO.
