Today at the Novi Sad City Hall, Mayor of Novi Sad Miloš Vučević welcomed British Ambassador to Serbia HE Michael Davenport.
The meeting featured talks about the encouraging signal that was sent to the world and all the potential investors and business partners in the previous period, as Serbia evidently has its place in Europe, while the Ambassador expressed great satisfaction with everything that the City of Novi Sad has been doing to attract investors, such as the improvement of general living conditions and development of infrastructure and economy, which has multiple positive effects on the efforts of Serbia to approach the EU.
Ambassador Davenport and Mayor Vučević talked about the upcoming Exit music festival, taking place in Novi Sad in the next few days, which is very popular in Great Britain. They agreed that among numerous festival visitors from around the world, British people traditionally make up the most of that number. Ambassador Davenport pointed out that he is very satisfied with the measures that the city administration implemented, as their planned and organized activities ensured safe and comfortable stay for over 5000 British visitors who came to Serbia not only because of the music program at the festival, but also because of the warm welcome and hospitality of Novi Sad and its citizens.
They summed up the previous good cooperation established with the City of Novi Sad since Michael Davenport has been appointed the British Ambassador to Serbia, while there were also discussions regarding the election of Michael Davenport for the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, at which it was concluded that excellent relations will be continued in the future as well.
