
Mayor of Kistelek, Nagy Sándor, emphasized the importance of the project and the EU support for the development of the SME sector in the cross-border region, as well as the importance of previous cooperation of the two cities on the project, expressing the hope for such cooperation to continue through the implementation of new ideas.
The project objective is to encourage synergy and cooperation in economy of the cross-border region by providing better physical conditions and transfer of knowledge. Main project activities are: elaboration of the Main Project for the SME Center in Novi Sad (multifunctional hall, 5,000 m2) and elaboration of the Strategy for the Development of Industrial Zone in Kistelek.
Project manager and Deputy Head of the Novi Sad City Administration for City Planning and Housing, Djordje Pisarov, expressed his gratitude for the common interest of Novi Sad and Kistelek to develop SMEs and for the fact that business entities from Novi Sad and the region are already showing interest for the future facility, which he hopes will be fully finished in the coming years.
Total project budget is 114,196.00 EUR, financed from the Hungary-Serbia IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Program and implemented by the City of Novi Sad through the Local Economic Development Office, in partnership with Multipurpose Microregional Association of Kistelek.
